The Pastry Book Tag

I saw this one someone's blog and I thought the concept was too cute. Unfortunately I wasn't tagged but I don't care. There's like so many cool tags to do and I'm not about to wait and hope that someone tags me to do it so I might as well tag myself for me.
PLUS IT'S DESSERTS!! HELL YEAH I'M GONNA DO THIS!!

CROISSANT: NAME A POPULAR BOOK OR SERIES THAT EVERYONE (INCLUDING YOU) LOVES

Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1)

I don't know anyone who doesn't like this series and I don't think I want to get to know that person because these books are amazing (even though I only read the first two hehehehehe,). Seriously, I'm all of kickassing female assassins who's objective is to take kingdoms and anyone in her way.

MACARONS: NAME A BOOK THAT WAS HARD TO GET THROUGH BUT WORTH IT IN THE END

The only reason this was hard to get into was because of the old language and every having similar names except for the main character Beowulf. I had to read this for my English class and I did really enjoy. If you guys don't know, this is about Beowulf's story and it's really interesting but it's something that I wouldn't pick up again. Still worth the read!

VOL-AU-VENT: NAME A BOOK THAT YOU THOUGHT WILL BE AMAZING BUT FELL FLAT

11983951

I remember when I read this about two or three years ago I was really excited to read it before it came out. It was about this girl, who's like paparazzi, has a job to take pictures of a celebrity who's been sent to a rehabilitation retreat and in return she gets money to pay for photography classes.

The synopsis doesn't sound so exciting now but it did before and I was thinking of some asshole celebrity who has problems with drugs and she hates him at first sight, making her job easier. What I read was something completely different and not interesting. It was something you would watch from Disney Channel to be honest. I gave this two stars on good reads.

PAIN-AU-CHOCOLAT: NAME A BOOK THAT YOU THOUGH WOULD BE ONE THING BUT TURNED OUT TO BE SOMETHING ELSE

13517535

Dude this book is literally a roller coaster of EMOTIONS! I read this also a couple years ago and it was free back then and I'm gonna assume it wasn't so popular then either. So I read it just for the hell of it and OMG! THIS BECAME ONE OF MY FAVORITE BOOKS EVER! This is also New Adult. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone who dislikes cheaters and love triangles since that's what the whole dang book it clearly based off of.

PROFITEROLE: NAME A BOOK OR SERIES THAT DOESN’T GET ENOUGH ATTENTION

7879278

Why doesn't this series have any hype? This is one of my favorite series of all time! I've read this series like three times and these books are just so amazing! This deserves the hype! GUYS READ THIS BOOK! DO IT DO IT DO IT!

P.S. Profiterole looks so damn good

CROQUEMBOUCHE: NAME A BOOK OR SERIES THAT’S COMPLETELY COMPLEX.

13138635

Okay in case no one told you, this book is basically titantic set in space but Jack actually survives the crash but instead of landing in the ocean, they land on an unknown planet.
I really enjoyed this but it was weird and stuff didn't make sense and I didn't understand why this happened because of this and that. It's just a lot weird stuff to understand since I don't know anything about space except my planets and that there's 0 gravity.

NAPOLEON: NAME A MOVIE OR TV SHOW BASED OFF A BOOK THAT YOU LIKED BETTER THAN THE BOOK ITSELF.

Lol why does this one even exist?

EMPANADA: NAME A BOOK THAT WAS BITTERSWEET

Tiger Lily

Guys, I've been seeing that dessert throughout all my school life and never known what the hell it was. Today is the day that I finally find out that it's an empanada.
Anyways, freaking Tiger Lily man. Just FREAKING TIGER LILY. Just know there were tears.

KOLOMPEH: NAME A BOOK OR SERIES THAT TAKES PLACE SOMEWHERE OTHER THAN YOUR OWN COUNTRY

Anna and the French Kiss (Anna and the French Kiss, #1)

In case you've been living under a rock your whole life and never read Anna and the French Kiss, this book takes place mostly in France and it's awesome and cute and I highly recommend anyone to read even if you did read it and loved it!

PATE-A-CHOUX: NAME A FOOD FROM A BOOK OR SERIES THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO TRY

An Ember in the Ashes (An Ember in the Ashes, #1)

So far, everyone loves this freakin book and I shall also!

For as long as she can remember, Gwendolyn Allister has never had a place to call home—all because her mother believes that monsters are hunting them. Now these delusions have brought them to London, far from the life Gwen had finally started to build for herself. The only saving grace is her best friend, Olivia, who’s coming with them for the summer.

But when Gwen and Olivia are kidnapped by shadowy creatures and taken to a world of flesh-eating sea hags and dangerous Fey, Gwen realizes her mom might have been sane all along.
The world Gwen finds herself in is called Neverland, yet it’s nothing like the stories. Here, good and evil lose their meaning and memories slip like water through her fingers. As Gwen struggles to remember where she came from and find a way home, she must choose between trusting the charming fairy-tale hero who says all the right things and the roguish young pirate who promises to keep her safe.

With time running out and her enemies closing in, Gwen is forced to face the truths she’s been hiding from all along. But will she be able to save Neverland without losing herself?

A Peter Pan retelling? Set in Neverland? Of course I'm going to read this!

Review: November 9 by Colleen Hoover

November 9

Title: November 9
Release Date: November 10th, 2015
Genre: romance, new adult, contemporary
Amazon Goodreads
Barnes and Noble

Beloved #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover returns with an unforgettable love story between a writer and his unexpected muse.

Fallon meets Ben, an aspiring novelist, the day before her scheduled cross-country move. Their untimely attraction leads them to spend Fallon’s last day in L.A. together, and her eventful life becomes the creative inspiration Ben has always sought for his novel. Over time and amidst the various relationships and tribulations of their own separate lives, they continue to meet on the same date every year. Until one day Fallon becomes unsure if Ben has been telling her the truth or fabricating a perfect reality for the sake of the ultimate plot twist.

COLLEEN HOOVER HAS DONE IT AGAIN LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!
In case you didn't know, I LOVE COLLEEN HOOVER! Her books are amazing and so real! They have the ability and power to make you smile, laugh, cry, scream, and rejoice. I've read everything by her and this book surely did not disappoint!

I only knew a bit of the book was about but I mostly went in blind and guys this was absolutely amazing! Basically it's about this boy, Ben, and this girl, Fallon, who met up on November 9th and hit it off. Unfortunately, the girl had to leave for New York the next day so they both promised to meet up at the same place and same time next year on the 9th of November. That's all I'm going to say and that's all you need to know before reading this book.

The only problem I have with it is that I wish we could see what happened to the character's lives after November 9th. I really wanted to see how Fallon grew and progressed in New York and I wanted to see how her and her father's relationship improved throughout the year.

This is a love story like all of Colleen Hoover books and the romance was so amazing and cute. Ben and Fallon were so cute! They had such adorable moments that made me smile so hard. Guys! They even called their own romance an insta-love and even discuss about it!

"He makes a face. "Insta-love?"

I nod. "When two characters meet and supposedly have this great connection right off the bat."
He raised an eyebrow.
"Fallon, I think we might already be in trouble if that's one of your least favorite things."
I think about his statement for a moment. He might be right. It's been a pretty unbelievable day with him. If he put today in writing, I'd probably roll my eyes and say it was too cheesy and unrealistic."

If that doesn't make you want to read the book, then I don't know what else and Fallon is also a reader too! That's extra bonus points!

If you've read Colleen Hoover books before, you know there's going to be plot twists and crazy shit going down. You know that this happiness that everyone is feeling is not going to last and everyone is going to suffer very very very much. Her characters and situations just feel so real and you get attached to these people. Then you end up crying over these people and trying to convince yourself they're aren't real people.

In conclusion, this book was amazing and wrapped up perfectly. All the questions I had were answered and weren't any holes or lack of explanation in this story. This book was perfect!

reading-stats-2015-1024x278

Number Of Books You Read: 62
Number of Re-Reads: 2
Genre You Read The Most From: Fantasy of course!

best-YA-books-2014

1. Best Book You Read In 2015?

This is a hard one! I read so many great books this year and they were mostly popular books too! But I'll say Hopeless by Colleen Hoover! Such an awesome and emotional book!

2. Book You Were Excited About & Thought You Were Going To Love More But Didn’t?

This is a tough one since most of everything I've read turned out pretty well but I'll have to say Reawakened by Colleen Houck. Colleen Houck is one of my favorite authors and wrote one of my favorite series of all times but this book wasn't as amazing as her Tiger's Curse series. I know it's only the first book but I was really excited since it's based on Egyption Mythology and Houck makes swoony guys but sadly didn't turn out the way I wanted. I still enjoyed it though!

 3. Most surprising (in a good way or bad way) book you read?

I know this is cheating but I have to say the Jennifer L. Armenstrout's Covenant series and The Dark Elements trilogy! I enjoyed all of her books and her humor !

 4. Book You “Pushed” The Most People To Read (And They Did)?

I didn't really influence much people into reading in my life since no one around me reads but I did convince my best friend to read Hopeless by Colleen Hoover and she loves it!

 5. Best series you started in 2015? Best Sequel of 2015? Best Series Ender of 2015?

Best series; A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
Best Sequel of 2015: Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor (Daughter of Smoke and Bone #2)
Best End of 2015: Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead

6. Favorite new author you discovered in 2015?

Colleen Hoover
I will read anything by her! I read all of her books and loved them all!

7. Best book from a genre you don’t typically read/was out of your comfort zone?

I read anything in YA and nothing is really out of my comfort zone since I'm open for anything so I'm just going to not answer this question and pass.

8. Most action-packed/thrilling/unputdownable book of the year?

11735983Allegiant (Divergent, #3)

Enough said.

9. Book You Read In 2015 That You Are Most Likely To Re-Read Next Year?

I hardly reread books unless I'm really thinking about the book and missing all the characters but I do reread I'm probably going to reread certain sections of the book since it's the stuff I remember most and enjoyed. I know I've already said this in one of my previous questions but I'll have to go with Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead because even to this day I reread some of the passages that made me cry and laugh. I REALLY LOVE THAT SERIES OKAY!!

10. Favorite cover of a book you read in 2015?

18248613
I know this is a novella but this cover is so awesome!

11. Most memorable character of 2015?

There's so many to choose from since I remember a lot of characters and I'm trying not to use the same books again but I'm gonna cheat and say the characters from the Lunar Chronicles since this year I read Cress and it felt so good to be back in that world again.

 12. Most beautifully written book read in 2015?

GAAAHHH so many to choose from but I'll have to go with Laini Taylor's Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy since her writing is AMAZING!!!

13. Most Thought-Provoking/ Life-Changing Book of 2015?

Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover! I didn't like the first half of the book since it's mostly sex but the other half is where the emotional parts happen and shit goes down and it leaves you crying and then there's a happily ever after and then you want to cry again because everyone is happy. That's what Hoover's books do to you but I think this one really got to me since it was more darker than the others.

14. Book you can’t believe you waited UNTIL 2015 to finally read?

Dude I've read so many old books this year and I want to kick myself for waiting this long to read it but I'll have to go with the Covenant series again.

15. Favorite Passage/Quote From A Book You Read In 2015?

“To my wonderful readers:
Sorry about that last cliff-hanger.
Well, no, not really. HAHAHAHA.
But seriously, I love you guys.”
-Rick Riordan

This was from Mark of Athena and I didn't read that this year probably in 2014 or 2013 but to this day this count makes me so mad yet makes me love Riordan at the same time.

22. Newest fictional crush from a book you read in 2015?

I'll have to say Ignifex from Cruel Beauty since he was so funny and awesome! There were other swoon-worthy guys but since I read Cruel Beauty last he kind of sticks out!
I pictured Ignifex as Rami Malek. Why? I like the thought of seeing Malek in my head while reading since he's absolutely gorgeous.
