Soundtrack to My Life Book Tag!

Since I haven't done a tag lately, why not do one now and I thought this one sounded cool and fun to do and I hope you guys enjoy it!

Opening Credits: Favorite Childhood book
Junie B. Jones and the Stupid Smelly Bus (Junie B. Jones, #1)I wasn't really much of a reader when I was a kid but I did enjoyed reading the Junie B. Jones books and I had so much fun reading them too!

Waking up: A book that got you out of a reading slump
18660447
Mainly anything light and quick to read would give me out a reading slump but I remember after I finsihed reading, Allegiant, I probably had one of the biggest reading slumps in my entire reading career. I picked up The Fill-In Boyfriend since it sounded cute and quick and fortunately and brought me out of my reading slump.

School: A book you had to read for school that you ended up loving
1967633
I read this in my sophomore year in high school for my World History class. This book was about a boy who questioned Germany's ways during Hitler's times and it's based on a true story and I thought this boy was so so brave. It's one of the books I'll never forget.

Falling In Love: An author you love so much you want to read all of their books
Colleen Hoover
If you've been in my blog long enough, you would know I absolutely adore Colleen Hoover and her books and I have read all of them and I will read anything she writes because she's so amazing!

Fight: Book with the best action sequences
16168821
This books has absolutely NO HYPE. This book is filled with action since it's about conspiracy and all that good stuff. I read this a couple years ago and I only remember very little but I do remember it having a lot of scenes and crazy stuff happening in it. Definitely recommend it!

Break up: A book or series you didn’t finish and do not intend to finish
6087756
Again I only read this a couple years ago but I remember I didn't really like it nor did I not enjoy the book. I felt really indifferent about it and I have absolutely no interest in continuing this series.

Hanging With Friends: Book you think everyone else should read
13372690If I could recommend a book everyone should read, it would be Slammed by Colleen Hoover. You'll get to explore poetry, love, and sadness in this book and gives so much advice like the rest of Colleen Hoover books. I actually recommend her books to everyone!

Breakdown: Book that seriously affected you/had you crying
 your eyes out
12677913
The Tiger Curse series is one of my favorite book series of all time and I'll read anything by her and I remember when I read this I kept saying, no no no no no no no no no no because of that ending and I cried for a good hour. Good times.

Roadtrip: You favorite series (more than 3 books)

I actually don't have a favorite series since there's so much books I love but the one of the series that are the very very very of the list is of course the Percy Jackson series and the Heroes of Olympus series. This books are one of the must fun and enjoyable reads and have the ability to make anyone smile. These books will always always always have a special place in my heart.

Flashback: Your favorite book    from 5 years ago
9436924
2011 was the start of my reading life and I remembered reading Thoughtless by S.C. Stephens in ebook and it was free so I gave it a read and it became one of my favorite books of all time. I adore this book!

Getting Back Together: What book can you not stop rereading
6527740I rarely reread books and when I do I only read certain sections and the one I read the most from is Last Sacrifice, the last book in the Vampire Academy series. It's just the moments between Rose and Dimitri that I can't stop reading. You know I love them both!

Wedding: A book that is really special to you
The Chronicles of Nick series will also have a special place in my heart too since I've read this series during a very depressing and sad time in my life and I always read these books to make me feel better and lift me up. I love this series so much!

Moment of Triumph: Longest book you’ve ever read
Breaking Dawn (Twilight, #4)According to Goodreads, Breaking Dawn was the longest book I read, having 794 pages!

Death Scene: Book or series you wish had ended differently
18710190This book. Enough Said.

Funeral: Book with the best or worst epilogue

I actually can't remember any epilogues at the moment. Sorry!

End Credits: Who do you tag?
I tag everyone since it's a really cool tag to do! I had so much fun doing it. Hope you enjoy this post!

Buzz Words That'll Make Me Read That Books

Everyone has a certain interested when it comes to book. Someone people enjoy reading books about vampires or dragons or dystopian or maybe a story about a dystopian society run about vampiric dragons. Everyone has certain interest in books that makes them automatically want to read them.

Today I'll share you guys the type of book that'll make me read it asap.

Ghosts

Yes people! I love reading ghost stories! I find the concept of dead people roaming on Earth and scaring people fascinating! Ever since I was a kid I thought ghost stories were to fun to read and I wish there were more in YA to read.

9378297The Name of the Star (Shades of London #1)13555073

Ghosts are so spooky and gives the story a creepy atmosphere. I want to read a book filled with ghosts, not ghosts that are side characters or the main characters imagination. I mean REAL ghosts HAUNTING people!

Mythology

Reading books based on Mythology is so fun. You get to read about a culture of a country like Greece, China, or Egypt and learn about their gods from ancient times and it seems so cool to have a god of sky or a goddess of war. I'll read absolutely anything with gods in it. Especially Greek gods.

281879681214Tiger's Curse (The Tiger Saga, #1)

Hades/Persephone or Beauty/Beast retelling

I think these retellings are the cutest with the cutest romance. I love the romance. I love reading about romances when the love interests hate each other or just one hates the other but as they get to know each other they start to fall in love with each other and it's just so good and nice to read. I swear these books have the best romances since you see them slowly start falling for each other.

Urban Fantasy

OMG OMG OMG! I love reading urban fantasy! Fantasy set in modern times. I enjoy reading them so much, especially if there's humor to it! There isn't much out there in YA and I wish everyone would stop following the crowd and stop making high fantasy books and make some urban fantasy. People like me enjoy them! Especially those books that have everything in them vampires, werewolves, fairies, and ghosts!

Post Apocalypse/Survival

When I say post apocalypse I meant stories set in modern times and something paranormal disrupts society and change everyone lives and they're force to change their way of living in order to survive. I think these stories are so fun to read because it's something that could happen (most likely won't)!

Girl pretending to be a guy

Guys!! Those stories are so fun to read! Who wouldn't read about a girl who's struggling to be a guy because of some reason? I certainly would! It's so fun reading those types of books because you get to see how the girl is struggling to not reveal her secret and you just can't help but root for her. So fun.

and finally...

FAERIES!

I know most people don't enjoy reading about faeries but I DO! I love reading about the Summer Court and Winter Courts and the types of fae! I like how sneaky and magical they are. Ever since I read the Iron Fey series, I became fascinated with faeries and I'll read anything with faeries in it.

Those are the buzz words I'll absolutely read. If you guys have any good recommendations for books in those categories, please let me now and comment below because there's barely any of those books or I'm just not finding them well enough! Hope you enjoy this post!

Review: The Impostor Queen by Sarah Fine

23495112

Title: The Impostor Queen
Release Date: January 5th, 2016
Genre: romance, young adult, fantasy
Amazon Goodreads

Barnes and Noble

Sixteen-year-old Elli was a small child when the Elders of Kupari chose her to succeed the Valtia, the queen who wields infinitely powerful ice and fire magic. Since then, Elli has lived in the temple, surrounded by luxury and tutored by magical priests, as she prepares for the day when the Valtia perishes and the magic finds a new home in her. Elli is destined to be the most powerful Valtia to ever rule.

But when the queen dies defending the kingdom from invading warriors, the magic doesn’t enter Elli. It’s nowhere to be found.

Disgraced, Elli flees to the outlands, the home of banished criminals—some who would love to see the temple burn with all its priests inside. As she finds her footing in this new world, Elli uncovers devastating new information about the Kupari magic, those who wield it, and the prophecy that foretold her destiny. Torn between the love she has for her people and her growing loyalty to the banished, Elli struggles to understand the true role she was meant to play. But as war looms, she must align with the right side—before the kingdom and its magic are completely destroyed.

This book was a bit weird to read but this book was original. This review will probably be short and gif-less since it's been a couple of days since I've read this.

This book was basically about this girl, Elli, who's suppose to take over the position to be queen with tremendous powers and the ability to control both ice and fire after the Valtia, current queen, dies. Once she does, Elli doesn't get her powers as she's supposed to and runs away to the the land outside of the kingdom. Then the story goes on from there.

I really enjoyed this book and it was impossible to put it down. The story was unique and different yet it almost reminded me of Avatar: The Last Airbender since the concept it almost the same.

I really liked the main character Elli. She wasn't afraid to speak her mind and do what she wanted and I love how hard working she is after having everything taken away from her and her situation did suck a lot. I was awed to find out that Elli was bisexual, or was in love with a woman during the beginning of this book and it was really interesting since you never really find that in YA lately.  Also, she becomes physical disabled with her right hand. So you have main character who's suppose to be queen but didn't who is physically disabled and bisexual. Name a book where you'll find that at.

I also thought the romance was just a bit insta-lovey because you don't really see her and the guy communicate much and only have a little scenes with each other that aren't enough. This book does have the potential to have a love triangle but the other guy is more interested in Elli for other reasons instead of her.

Like I said before, this review is going to be short and not detailed much since I read this book only a while ago but overall I enjoyed the books originality and I can't wait for the second book in the series since it leaves you with a lot of questions of what's going to happen next. A great start to a series!

Book Haul {1}

Book haul post will be super rare since I rarely buy physical copy books and only read ebooks but I still would like to share books I bought and when I buy physical, I BUY LOADS OF THEM.

Really I only bought fifteen books and they're mostly books from previous releases.

This is me carrying all fifteen books.
Yes. It was difficult.
Yes. I was scared they were going to fall.
Yes. They eventually fell.

First two books I bought from Barnes and Noble were Illuminae by Amie Kaufmen and Jay Kristoff and Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare. I had books 1 and 2 of the infernal devices series already and I wanted to buy the last book so I would have all of them. The only reason why I bought illuminae was because the book looked so cool! I HAD to buy it!

Next four books I bought were from Better World Books! I got them on their awesome sale four bargain books for $12 and since I had the Warrior Heir by Cinda Williams Chima and heard her books were really good, I went ahead and bought the second and third books, The Dragon Heir and The Wizard Heir, of the Heir Chronicles. I also bought the first and third book in Rick Riordan's, Kane Chronicle, The Serpent's Shadow and The Red Pyramid. Why don't I have the second book? Good question. I thought The Serpent's Shadow was the second book in the Kane's Chronicle but right after I bought the book I found out it was actually the third book and they didn't have the second book unfortunately.

Guys if you're looking for cheap books with free shipping, I recommend you guys to go to Better World Books!

The next two books I bought from Abebooks (Another site I recommend for cheap books with mostly free shipping) are Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson and Bloodlines by Richelle Mead. I heard good things by both books and I was very curious about Brandon Sanderson's books since I hear he's a really talented author and I thought Steelheart had such an interesting cover and synopsis that I just had to buy it. In case you didn't know, I'm in love with the Vampire Academy series and even though there's no Rose and Dimitri in her other book series, Bloodlines, I will still read it!

The last seven books I bought from Book Outlet (ANOTHER AWESOME SITE TO BUY BOOKS!). I bought a box set of the first five books in the Mortal Instrument series and Illusion and Instinct by Sherrilyn Kenyon from the Nick Chronicles series. I've only read the first book of the Mortal Instrument series and I remember I didn't really enjoy it much but I'm willing to give it another try since it's a really popular series and I want to be in the fandom as well. If you didn't know, the Nick Chronicles are also one of my favorite series of all time and I already have every book in that series and I just needed to collect more!

Hope you enjoyed my very first book haul posts and like I said before, these posts will be rare!

I do not regret buying these books.
